I'd love to see a campaign guide that's entirely based on Neverwinter Nights 1, in the main campaign. All of the maps, to scale. Prominent NPCs motivations and whatnot detailed. Stat blocks would be nice, but not necessary, just tell me what level they are and what class. Mention any spells they make heavy use of.
That would indeed be cool, but a different direction from this product. I think you'll see some things reflected from Neverwinter lore, however . . .

It's a Forgotten Realms product. Of course I'll buy it. The fact that Erik had a hand in it will make it all the sweeter.
Thanks, Krash--that means a lot to me. I'll try to do y'all proud.

There's another Forgotten Realms comic coming? Details!! I LOOOOVED those old FR and AD&D comics. There was some excellent writing in those comics, especially the one dealing with Foxilon's addiction. |

IDW is going to publish all of the old DC AD&D , Spelljammer, Dragonlance, & FR comics in Feb 2011. As for the new FR comic, it is Drizzt, location unknown. |
I hope Candlekeep continues to be the friendly forum of fellow Realms-lovers that it has always been, as we all go through this together. If you don’t want to move to the “new” Realms, that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with either you or the “old” Realms. Goodness knows Candlekeep, and the hearts of its scribes, are both big enough to accommodate both. If we want them to be. (Strikes dramatic pose, raises sword to gleam in the sunset, and hopes breeches won’t fall down.) Enough for now. The Realms lives! I have spoken! Ale and light wines half price, served by a smiling Storm Silverhand fetchingly clad in thigh-high boots and naught else! Ahem . . So saith Ed. <snip> love to all, THO

| My hopes are there will be some historical stuff, e.g. about Illefarn, Ilyianbruen, Haunghdannar, Eigersstor, Twilit Land, Uthtower, the Covenant ... maybe even the Kraken Society |

I was hoping for something along the lines of the original comics that has new characters. Drizzt is old old old news. |

Where can I read more about this factoid? I loved those old comics, and in fact have the D&D and FR ones in my closet. |

There was a past discussion on comicbookresources.com that mentioned something about IDW's plans for next year. [Can't find the link for it, unfortunately.]
Basically, it amounted to the fact that since IDW are already largely reprinting all the old Star Trek, G.I. Joe and Transformers titles published by Marvel back in the 80's and 90's under their own brand, they've now been looking into other old fan-favourites from other publishers that they can re-print -- so long as they have or can acquire the licensing rights.
Also, IDW have the D&D license to print comics, so I'm assuming that also includes the rights to re-print the old comics too -- similar to what we've seen with the Star Trek, G.I. Joe, and Transformers titles being published by IDW. See, they're running both a "Classic" series of omnibus compilations of older Marvel material, and publishing new titles with new stories under their license.
There's a brief discussion about it here, which includes some interesting tidbits from Denton Tipton, the IDW Editor:- http://forum.idwpublishing.com/viewtopic.php?t=7823&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 |

IDW makes the statement in the back of the D&D comic that came out this week. I'm happy to have the chance to read all of them finally. We were poor growing. I had to choose wisely when it came to comics. |

If you weren't reading AD&D and FR, you chose... poorly. |

That's fantastic news. I can't read Sage's copies . . . because he's paranoid about "destructive" skin oils ruining the delicate natures of the books. |

Which means that his skin is too delicate for that as well. |

| I for one can't wait to see what Erik & the Folks have done with Neverwinter....there is a lot of Lore about Neverwinter particularly about its founding and involvement with Luskan...I'll be very curious to see if my 'lore guesses & gap fillers" were even vaguley close to the mark..... |

I tried the shrink-wrap thing on myself...
Didn't work out so well... glad I don't want to have any more kids...
Re-publishing the old D&D comics is a godsend - I still can't figure out why I never purchased any (being both a D&Der and comic aficionado).
The Drizzt comic... I guess it all depends on the artwork... I'm not too thrilled with the two-sworded, Chuck-Norrisesque, over-used, Emo-love muppet. I wonder what era the comic will be in? Its almost a given the companions have to be in it as well (which precludes 4e, unless they do a Soap-Operish 'resurrection' - *Meh*). |
