Hi, I'm a long-time Realms fan, but new to these forums! I've been reading through a lot of posts, and am really impressed with all of these scribes! Do you have to be a member for a long time before you can ask question in the Ed Greenwood foum? It is so cool that Mr. Greenwood come here to post.
Anyway, this is a really cool forum, with everything a Realms fan needs!
Thank you!

You don't have to be a long time member. However, it wouldn't hurt to have a look at the archives of previous Ask Ed posts, as your question may have already been asked and answered. I'm not very good with the Google-Fu, but I imagine you can use Google to narrow your search considerably in order to find answers to topics of interest to you.

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Mr. Misc speaks truly on the topic of asking Ed questions... Just be advised that it sometimes takes him *years* to answer them. He doesn't forget, he just has a lot of demands on his time, and lore he's questioned about isn't always readily at hand.

Welcome!

Yeah, it rocks that Ed answers. But alot of other great lorekeepers and authors that write great forgotten realms books also reply to the best of their ability, so it a huge collection of lore.

Be warn that alot of things cant be answered, due to Wizards of the coast.

I love PMs! Please send me a message. Even if its Hi.

Thank you all for the welcome! I have been spending the better part of the last few days reading through previous posts! And the archived version of Ed's scroll! (Downloaded all those!)
I own most of the Forgotten Realms published products, so I hope I can contribute, and be a 'scribe' too!

Is there going to be a new Candlekeep Compendium in the future?

Well met.

"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is
to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious
thing we have. Wherefore guard the word written and heed
words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn
then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they
will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding."

The topic has come up more than once, but given that WotC refuses to give a comprehensive fansite policy that says whether or not we can do it, it's kind of in Limbo.
