But the fluid nature of English has made it one of the most adaptable languages. Thus, one is able to be more specific about divergent topics, as the English integrated foreign words (and ideas) into the language. I'm far from a linguistics expert (and am now, in fact, procrastinating to avoid a French assignment), I just read this thesis in one of David Eddings books and it sounds highly plausible to me. What is the opinion of English majors (Bookwyrm) and those who speak more than one language fluently?

I'm no English major. I can't stand the language sometimes. But it's the one I grew up with, and I can't seem to learn any others, so I'm pretty much stuck with a language that (as is often said) grew out of a bad habbit between Norman and Saxon soldiers and barmaids, who figured that if they shared a common language they could share other things as well.

Shadowlord, I haven't taken a look at it yet, sorry. I've been really busy and I kept forgetting. I'll go save it now so that I'll have it to read later.

You sure you're one to talk? Even I, the famed talking scribe, never managed to post as much as you have in so short a time! I better watch it, or you'll have my job!

It was nothing more than a discussion in the Computer Software-areas. With my overwhelming knowlege of Baldur's Gate II - ToB I tried to convinse Ezindir that my Mage could kick his @$$! That and a few other topics in that area generated alot of posts. Was up on 29.00 per day in one case .

But, alas! I had to go and get myself hospitalized for 4 days, so my 'per-day-count' dropped a bit then.

EDITORS NOTE (THat's me!):
And those posts weren't little puny 3-liners, neither. I'm talking long posts here! Several sentences!!! Heck. If you check out the Computer Software are you'll probably find my name in all of the recent topics.

That's my spot
