| I've got about twenty different books going at the moment. Some of them are re-reads of old Realms novels. But I think it's time I add a few new ones to the list as well... so I might finally start with "The Wilds" series. |

100 pages deep in The Temptation of Elminster, reading it for the second time, now with a much better appreciation both for the Realms in general, and more particularly, Ed's novels.
Damn it's good. |

I've just finished "Hand of the Hunter" by Mark Sehestedt (book II, Chosen of Nendawen trilogy). Excellent novel! I highly recmmend. :)
Mr Sehestedt is almost on par of with Paul S. Kemp, who is my favourite Realms author. |

| Finished Avenger. Would have to agree. Out of the three, it was my favorite. Was going to read City of Torment, but after reading the comments on the content, think I'll pass. Maybe Unbroken Chain, pass again. Like the author, but not a fan of all the shadow stuff. Oh well, back to the early days then. Probably the hardest descision I'll make all day. |

I enjoyed those two novels. Unbroken Chain makes the shadowfell come to life and gives a deeper meaning to it as being a place that some live in, making it more than just a cool place to travel through. Which in turn, gives more life to the Shadar-Kai, making them more than just creatures, they each have distinct personalities like humans but differ in their own ways also. |

And just as an update, and thanks to several gifts he received from me and friends over the holiday season, I'm sure this number will increase severely, in no time at all. |

I think he'd best try reading through that to do list from the start! |

| I started reading Forgotten Realms novels about 2 years ago with the Drizzt series. In the last 8 months or so I have widened my spectrum of novels and have read probably close to 40 of them, with another 40 sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. |

| Went way back and just finished Red Magic again. Started Plague of Spells. Just one question. It sort of describes some of the changes that happened after the spellplague. Since I'm one who was familiar with the layout of the realms about 15 yrs ago, is there a book that may go into more detail of that have occured. 4th edition manual or some such item ? |

The 4E Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide will tell you what the Realms looks like now, with little bits of info on how it got there -- but for the most part, the timejump is being left as unexplored territory. |

Finished Realms of Shadow. Most stories were rather bland to my taste, but two really fascinated me, which were the ones by Lisa Smedman and the one by Salvatore. Those were great stuff!
Somehow the anthology triggered my interest in the Netheril related novels. Is it recommendable to read the Netheril Trilogy before the Return of the Archwizards? Or nothing to be missed? |

Doesn't matter. Nothing really ties in between the two series. |

Indeed. Other than the floating city from Netheril angle, there is nothing to connect the two trilogies -- they are quite unrelated. |

I am no fan of either of them. The Return of the Archwizards trilogy, in particular, I rather disliked. That said, I know a lot of people found it very enjoyable. |

Other than the region they're focusing on, there's really nothing that connects both trilogies. You can read them in any order without much worry. |
