Hi.

I couldn't find this kind of topic, so I posted this one, but if there is somewhere post like this, please forgive me :P and you could delete this...

As about the topic, you probably played Neverwinter Nights on the internet. There are many servers to play and have a very good time. But about this "play", do you usualy go for H&S servers, where you only running and killing monsters / other players ? Or do you try to play on real rp servers, where you can let your imagination fly ( :P ), almost like in the real rpg?

It is interesting for me, because in my country mostly people want to fight fight and fight, earn experience and they don't think about making story, dialogs, and have fun in this way. Of course there are guys (and girls also) who are playing almost without fighting, they sit in the Inn, and we are talking, laughing and having very good time indeed (?).

And now question for you, how it looks like in your play? :) ...

*btw, sory for grammar mistakes, etc. ;]

I like action, but by the same token I play on servers that offer good chances to roleplay. Some PW's offer a pretty good mix of them and with good DM's and other players they can be a lot of fun.

One of the problems that I've found is some servers are so 'hardcore' into roleplay that they offer pretty much nothing in the way of action..and others are so H and S that's all they offer. The best are a combination of both (with players being smart enough to know when to RP and when to fight).

Lots of servers offer players a chance to hang out and explore them, and I like to move around from PW to PW and check them out.

Give them a look and you may find one that suits your play style.

For me it's fight fight fight at first until the character matches my idead for what the character is supposed to be about and or until she doesn't die every encounter. then I sort of cruise along RPing and helping anyone smart enough to be friendly to me. I'll RP from the start if the opportunity presents itself though.

I know this is going to sound bad but I've never played NWN, Even though I have the game and all the supplements. But Sgain has convienced me to give it a try, so let me know what site you like and try.

Thanks PFoA

I've enjoyed A Land Far Away on and off.

NWN multiplayer is very good. SOme servers are bad some are good.
IF you know some good servers it's fun to play NWN in net.
TIP:
Get program named The All-seeing Eye(just put that in Google, i think it's enough)
That program finds servers. Install it and use some modifiers and try. You can find servers to BG and NWN trhough it. I use that program a lot.

I recommend you server The Three Towns. IT's very good server.

Another tip for those who'd like to multiplay in Neverwinter Nights but are a bit baffled by the plethora of servers out there (aside from the quality issue, many servers are also "dead", that is, you can log on but no one's minding the store. Turns out some servers have been all but abandoned for years. Makes you wish GameSpy would clean house better...)

...What? Rambling? Oh, yes, the tip: http://www.neverwinterconnections.com/

I myself am trying to find a good mix of hack 'nd slash and roleplay on a FR-set Persistent World or at least get my feet wet with a loose (FR) adventure or two. There I was, peering hard to see the forest for the trees, when I came across Neverwinter Connections.

Disclaimer: I am a newbie myself -at least in things digital- and have only just begun to reconnoitre this site. Kindly don't come running crying to me should you find it disappointing.

Everytime I try to go online with Neverwinter Nights I keep getting a message that says the servers have timed out. I have no idea what this means. And my level 20 Sorcerer is looking for a challenge.

I'm pretty sure it's a problem on your end. Check you router and firewall and make sure they haven't blocked NWN?

The server times out when the connection between the server and your computer has been broken for a certain amount of time, usually because the server has crashed - but not always. If this happens every time you try to connect to a server, it probably means that there's something a bit strange going on with your connection. (Unless you've had the bad luck of always trying to connect to badly connected servers of course).

There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist.

Well I would down my firewall except for two things: Iam positive the firewall isn't blocking the server connections because I told it not to. The other thing is someone trys to get into my computer once every few minutes.
So it must be bad luck or NWN fears me.
