I'm curious to know about the fruits in Faerun. With various climates, I'm assuming that it's possible to find most, if not all, the fruits we have here over there?

I'm quite interested about tropical fruits escpecially: Mangosteens, jackfruits, etc. Where could they probably be found? It would be interesting, if possible, to take a durian and make an improvised flail out of it, or use it as a stink bomb of sorts.

Just a little detail my tabletop group is curious about.

Some are in the Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog and others have been discussed in various sourcebooks.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Additionally, you might try asking Ed for further lore on Realms-specific fruits that haven't been detailed previously (and that he can share with us -- the details, not the fruit) .

I've made a start on a list of "FR Foodtsuffs" but haven't made huge progress because of other projects, computer hassles, life etc. One day ...

You just have to remember, that if Toril has same plants as our earth the some of the foodstuff can be pretty hard to get. Potatos and tomatoes forexample originate Matzica (America)

I am Talanfir Swiftfeet. (In)famous across the Swoardcoast as "Tal the Swift", Brandobaris´ seraph of mischief. If ye find yer shoelaces tied together while trying to catch a thief or meet a king who is angry because somebody switched the places of his chamberpot and his crown, ye can usually (try to) find me near.

If I had a halfling mother and a human father, would I be a half-halfling or a threequarterling?

If possible George, I would love to see this partial list. It would fit in perfectly with a project, with Kuje's prompting, that I am thinking about doing for Candlekeep.

Well with all that teleportation going on i the realms the seeds can get spread much quicker.
Heck tomatoes seeds might become a spell component.

Hey George, does this listing you've got cooking up also include the myriad and off-hand references made to fruits in the various FR novels?

I ask, because I've compiled a listing of my own of the more recent mentions in FR novels over the last year or so. Considering whether or not you're up to that point yet... I might send it to you and save you some work .

I can't recall exactly but I suspect it was a mixture of both - the info is stashed somewhere in one of my "FR Notebooks". Please, send your list through to me anyway. Anything that saves me work is good in my book!! Thanks in advance.

I have seen a list of fictional realm trees somewhere. So eventhough the realms may have all/most the flora we have, they also have some fictional ones.

Aye... Thanks George. I've got that address on file already .

I held back on sending the listing earlier because I'm making a few last checks to references from earlier books that I noted were "vague" at best in my notes. Once that's done I'll send it your way.
