I'll also be attending the Secrets of the Forgotten Realms and Spin a Yarn.

Actually, the first YD signing ends a half hour before Secrets of the Realms starts. If folks are attending the seminar, we could convoy from the signing over to the seminar.

I planned on going to those two events as well.... I'm not sure if the Secrets of the Realms event needs a pass/sign up?

It's a free seminar but with limited seating, so getting an event ticket would be advised but not strictly necessary, I think. Last year there were a few scattered seats but there were also people standing in the back.

HMMM. Okies.

So, how would one, whose never been to Gencon before, figure out how to get a ticket? :)

Well, there will be several ticket stands (long tables with weird awning type things) in one corner of the convention center (you can't miss it, I promise). The bulk of that area will be for people who don't have their badges/passes. That will be a LONG, LONG line. Don't worry about that. Next to that will be another set of tables labeled something like "Event Registration". There you can get tickets for individual events or just buy generic tickets (each event has x-cost of generic tickets) if there are seats left in it.

Also, like an airport, there are screens everywhere listing changes and additional info about events.

I will be at most of the WOTC seminars (Spin a Yarn, Year of Rogue Dragons preview, RA Salvatore, What's New at WOTC, Forgotten Realms, Freelancing for WOTC). I know Eric will probably also be at the Forgotten Realms seminars. The major FR one is right after our signing, so we will be zipping over to the Hyatt from the author's alley.

As someone who'll be there but doesn't have any info yet, where and when is the FR seminar? I'd like to skulk in the audience.

I just came from downtown Indy, and all taht fun stuff. Had to see where I can park, how far away, etc. Looks like I'm parking about a 15 minutes walk away, for free :P

Anyways, I passed the Hyatt Hotel and OMG. It's huge, you guys are going to not know what to think if it's your first time seeing it.

And Kuje, they are quite correct, your like less then a block away from the Convention Centre. And I hope I can attended the Secrets of the Realms event also, hopefully I'll be able to pick up my badge really early that day and get event ticket for that.

I'll be skulking as well. I might even say a word or two. I'm not officially doing anything at any of these, but it's certainly possible I might say a word or two at the Year of Rogue Dragons seminar.

Hello-

Glad you liked it Kuje. :)

And yes, it is simple - but it shouldent be too flashy - or it would be just silly, really.

I will bring some blanks with me - and I'm still trying to locate my stash of unused plastic badges - so people can get one when we meet up if you prefer.

One of my friends, a player in the game - made these for me BTW. I take credit for getting them made - but not the actual making! :)

Dhomal

I am collecting the D&D Minis. I would be more than willing to trade with people. You can send me a PM here with your email listed - and I can send you my minis list. Thanks!

Successfully traded with Xysma!

More sourcebooks means more work for me. That said, I don't have much control over what gets published. When we discuss the books for the next season, I'll be sure to contribute my two (hundred) cents.

Erik Scott de Bie (again, if time allows)

If you plan on coming just post here or Mail Me at Char9er@gmail.com and I'll edit this post here, or a mod can if I haven't got the time.

And, as for the meet up time in one giant post rather then having them spread out in four pages, here is the following. I presume most of of us have enough time to wait on others such as Eytan, for Eytan is going to be a very busy person

[quote]OK - since we are thinking about Thu eve - we should not have too much 'other' stuff going on to cause problems with wherever we choose.

I would say 5:30 PM at the cafeteria exit/enterance near the main dealers room enterance.

Backup - 6 PM at the bottom of the escalators in the Marriott lobby

Was just curious as to what you had planned after you all meet up?
I am seriously considering running down there, but I need to just pick one day out of the 4, just to much stuff at home with our work.

Fair enough, I will just have to pick, probably between Thursday and Saturday. Next year I will wrap my vacation around the event so I can have down time before and after all 4 days! Late summmer is the only time this hard workin' farmer can put together more that a few days away. This year is just booked!

Well,

I made it. :) However, sitting in the airplane for a hr cause of a t-storm is a real pain especially since the storm was in Indy and I was in DC and waiting to get here... I met Ed, got my Knights novel, got it signed. Couldn't find anyone else and so I guess the meet-up..... didn't happen or I just couldn't find people in the places we agreed on.

Morrow, going to the secrets of the realms event, and will try to touch in later morrow night on what was said during that event, since the Hilton has a puter lab with free net access. Otherwise, that's it..... Oh, well besides getting Blackstaff signed....

See ya!
