Just finished Avenger, the final book in the Blades of the Moonsea trilogy by Richard Baker. I was a little disappointed in this series, but overall I enjoyed it. Would have liked to see the Vassans' motivations fleshed out a little more.

Finished Circle of Skulls. Not bad. I did notice when I picked up Circle and Captive Flame, that there is this white banner at the top. Don't like that to well. Being one that is reading the current novels, out of the last 10, I've maybe enjoyed 5. Not thrilled with the newer efforts and now they put this white banner at the top. To me it plays with the cover art. I still buy each novel as it comes out, but they are making it difficult for me. They want me to quit, but I can't. I've tried. Oh well, I'll just keep going for now I guess.

Pool of Radiance was a good read. I'm running one party in a 4e adaptation of Ruins of Adventure, so I was already familiar with some of the people and places. It'll actually help me portray Porphyrys Cadorna better.
Started Pools of Darkness now.

Just starting Circle of Skulls after a short diversion into the engrossing Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson.

Slight deviation:- What's the trilogy like? I've been thinking about reading it myself...

Well worth the effort.....and by effort I mean it a lot of precise reading. As in very detailed, which I happen to like, but can turn some people off before things get rolling.

I really enjoyed both main characters, Blomkvist the been there done that journalist and Lisbeth Salander, the used and abused , tattooed computer whiz with her own sort of morality.

I highly recommend it, especially to someone I know as wells you, I think you will be absorbed by it!

Check in with me if you do tackle it, I would be glad to discuss.

I neglected to mention that Pools of Darkness I have completed and thoroughly enjoyed. Now I amin Pool of Twilight and have made a slight obervation in the first few chapters.
Apparently it takes place in 1372, the year of Wild Magic. The exact month isn't specified, but I will guess that, regardless of original intent, it was at least retconned to occur some time that year prior to the return of Bane....since it clearly states that Bane is dead (this of course because it was published in 1992 I think....a good while before 3E and the return of Bane was planned.

Finished Circle of Skulls and enjoyed it.

Starting The Captive Flame. Decent so far, but not engrossing me like RLB's novels usually do.

.. or you might finish the book in church while waiting for the bride to enter... That'd be true dedication!

I just finished two short stories from Paul S. Kemp:
1) Another Name for Dawn
2) Soulbound (from Realms of Dragons)

Now reading realms of the dead, the FR zombie anthology. I've liked most of the stories, though a couple were not great.

Confound it! I've just found out there'll probably be a release delay for Prince of Wolves in Australia.

[On a related-note, it's been hard avoiding the Prince of Wolves character write-ups in Kobold Quarterly #14. I don't want to spoil anything! ]

Changed my mind. I've got more than 550 pages left in the book I'm reading... And this one's 350. So the other book is on the back burner, and I'm reading Prince of Wolves now.
