Prince of Wolves.

What I was reading, and decided to backburner until I finish the Pathfinder book, was Executive Orders, by Tom Clancy. I've been working my way thru all the Jack Ryan books, of late -- though I'll prolly forgo Rainbow Six, and will definitely forgo The Teeth of the Tiger.

Just finished Blackstaff tower (which I loved) I'm now starting... Spellfire! I know, I know, I should've read this years ago. Better late than never!

Read Elminster Must Die!

Loved it....

Now all I have left to read is the Maztica books(any thoughts on those anyone?) and the Double Diamond books(any thoughts on these as well?)....and I will have read every realms novel except Plague of spells trilogy.(I'm just not digging the aboleths/Abolethic Sovereignty(sp?) so I am avoiding that series)

I avoided the Maztica books, myself. I really didn't enjoy the Moonshae trilogy, and what I knew of Maztica made it sound like too close a real-world analogue.

I've been meaning to read the Double Diamond Triangle books, but they keep getting pushed down on my reading list.

I got lucky and got them all at once on bay for 15 bucks, in sleeves and perfect condition....I kinda hate to get them out and handle them!

Now at one time these were not canon...then I heard maybe they they were, then no...then maybe yes or maybe just part of them......does anyone know what is. And isn't?

It's tentative. As such, it would appear WotC assume some parts are canon [or at least will be], given the reference in the 'Doppelganger' entry of Monsters of Faerūn. Wizards also told us that when the timeline reached 1377 DR, some form of those novels would become canon [we learned this in the mid-to-late days of 3e]. However, given the time-jump, I'd assume we'll probably never really know the status of some of the events in the novels, unless they're specifically referenced as historical events in post-Spellplague sources.

I know some scribes find it hard to reconcile the fact that Khelben appears in one of the books in 1377 DR [especially given the events of Khelben's status-change in Blackstaff]. A possible *fix* that I've put forth before, is to suggest that the "Khelben" featured in the 1377 DR storyline of the DDTS books, was in fact Tsarra-in-the-guise-of-the-Blackstaff instead.

That's an awesome deal! I've managed to find them for that cheap, and in good condition, but not perfect and certainly not sleeved.

I'm prolly the only person here who's found the entire series, more than once, for a reasonable price. I think I've bought it four or five times -- twice for myself (the first set was lost in the fire), once or twice to resell, and once for a friend.

Being fairly new to the novels, I have a whopping, all encompassing ONE book read (Homeland, Dark Elf Trilogy).

I really need to get more books, as I only have the other two books from the Dark Elf Trilogy.

Sheriff: Oh one other thing Earlie. Your boy needs to be in school.
Earlie Cuyler: School? Ain't dat da damn place where they got all dem uhh lets see, whatcha call um uhh? Fold outs covered in scriblins wrote up all over.
Earlie Cuyler: uhh? Books?
Earlie Cuyler: uh-uh, uh-uh, No they square like a magazine.
Sheriff: Books Earlie.
Earlie Cuyler: Noo not not that, but something like that, I wanna say boooooo...

Finally got back on FR novels again and re-read The Black Bouqet. Really a very good book. Great realms atmosphere and not only the best "The Rogues" novel in my opinion, but could as well have made it into "The Cities" series. Nice description of Oeble.
Man, this book really makes me wish I had a playing group to pick up the dice and run a nice city adventure!

I've had some great times in city adventures :)
Surviving and exploring the wilds is very fun of course, but spicing things up with a rogue setting in a big city is not a bad idea either :)

Just finished The Haunted Lands trilogy myself, and i found it very entertaining. A different read for sure, complex and powerful characters made it all the better. Aoth in particular stands out as a good center story character. And to finally see Szass Tam's true power at the end of book 3 was a thrill

I've also finished the first book in The Brotherhood of the Griffon series. A different setting, but a setting that i am not that familiar with, so it was satisfying to get some lore on that place. Aoth still rules, and Cera(sp) was an interesting twist. A bit too many powerful dragons around for my taste, but it was fun seeing an old aquaintance from Byer's previous stories emerge in the beginning.

Currently working my way through the Blades of the Moonsea (book II) and then only the Wilds (which I'm not really looking forward to, to be honest) and then a couple more newly released randoms (about 4) and then I will be completely caught up and be able to read the books as they are released.

I just finished, Obsidian Ridge, and I must say jess elbow is a great writer I loved everything about this book, great lore for the area it took place, well written charcter, nice quick moving book without feeling things got left out, this was the last of the citadel books I read and its close with sentinelspire but id say obsidian ridge gets it for best out of the four, recommend. If anyone else has read this let me know what you thought.

I took a hiatus from Realms novels for awhile, part of my disgust with 4e I suppose, but after reading the Sookie Stackhouse and Rachel Morgan books, I got back into my Realms reading, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I've enjoyed most of the new books. I loved the Fall of Highwatch and Wrath of the Blue Lady (although the editing of the latter was abysmal), but what really stood out for me was City of the Dead. I really fell in love with the characters, the Carver family stands out as a great addition to Realmslore in general, an specifically, they are a great addition to the lore of Waterdeep. And the best part is since they've been at it for hundreds of years, I can throw their ancestors into my 3e campaign as well. Oh yeah, I also read Elminster Must Die, and I have to say that Ed's treatment surpassed my hopes for helping me deal with the changes that have come to some of my favorite characters.

I'm preparing for Elminster Must Die!, finally, since my copy has now arrived. I've got too many other books going at the same time, however, so I'll probably be reading it on and off -- which is usually not something I like to do with Ed's books. I really do prefer devoting my whole attention to each of Ed's works, individually, but I'm just too eager to wait until I've finished everything else that I'm currently working through, before I start EMD.

Ouch! If I did that with an Ed book, I would be TOTALLY lost since his writing style requires that I pay EXTREME attention to what is going on and who is who.

Multi-tasking? That implies that you're actually doing stuff, which contrasts with the exponential growth of the to-do list...
