I've got this game, because I've heard it's so cool. But I can't figure how to atack monsters and cast spells. Pressing on the monster with mouse does nothing, I tried dozens of buttons and botton combinations - nothing helped. I can't find list of controls in the internet too. Some of you must have played it - can somebody help me?

If I'm remembering right, to attack you need to click on the weapon next to a character's portrait to make them attack with the weapon. It wasn't until one of the sequels that they added an "attack all" button that allowed all your characters to attack with their held weapons. Yes, it is a pain in the posterior, but practice a bit and you'll get the hang of it. You can also manually throw a weapon/item by clicking and dragging it to the view window, then releasing it. In fact, I do believe there is a puzzle on lower levels that require you to do just that. |

Hmm... If I click on the weapon next to the portrait, I just pick up that weapon. If I drag it (or a stone) to the view window and release it, it just falls on the ground, if I hold it low enaugh. If I hold it higher, it does nothing.
I didn't find any manual. |

" A key to playing Eye of the Beholder is understanding the difference between Take, Use, and Select. Taking involoves actions suck as pickup or dropping items. Using involves actions suck as attacking monsters with weapons, or indicating that a cleric or mage wishes to cast a spell. You can only Use items from the main Adventure Screen. Selecting involoves choosing buttons such as spell Level Buttons or the Camp Button, or choosing from lists such as picking spells to cast or memorize. Exactlyhow to Take, Use, or Select items and options with your mouse or keyboard (some systems only) is described in the DATACARD."

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." The manual didn't explain this function very well, so it won't help here.
All you need to do is right-click. As long as your mouse doesn't get dust on the sensor, you should be able to quickly hit each and every one of your characters' weapons and/or spells as quickly as you're allowed to click on them. |
