Well met

Apologies, Slime Lord. I fail to understand thy meaning... A "picture thread"?

I believe he's asking, "Why don't we have a place to post/file our RL pictures of what we look like."

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Well met

I can certainly add this facility to member profiles. How would that suit thee?

Slime I understand what you want, I think.

You want a thread to post Real Life pictures of posters.

I see a few problems with this.

1) Images consume more bandwidth and effects those that such an issue still matters.

2) There is no way for moderators to know it is a true image (I have seen some aparently tracked down to actually being a picture of a porn star as opsosed to the poster).

3) Any images might be subjected to various comments some of which might be very hurtful, causing discord that would not be welcomed by me.

"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

Which I don't often see in many other threads. But if that is the case, the user can be blocked for a period of time eh?

Well met

Kentinal is quite right. I could enable images in threads for this purpose, but have chosen to disallow then, for this very reason (bandwidth and undesirable images). I have seen many cases where irrelvant images are posted within threads, and also where images are extremely large, thus further causing problems. If enough people have a desire for member pictures, then i'll open up the option on profiles
