Have any sages come across any more information regarding the "Mages Regal" who had been reported to operate in the Haunting Halls of Evening Star... in the west of Star Water Gorge, in North Cormyr?

Perhaps a sage has heard of the creator or orginal master of the Lonely Tower somewhere in the Cold Woods just North of the Silver Marches?

Any further information would be greatly appreciated

I asked Ed about possible connections/conflicts between the Mages Regal and the Sword Heralds... both organizations are very similar, although the Mages Regal seem a bit more sinister in nature. Perhaps a rogue/traitor Sword Herald founded the Mages Regal? Maybe one of the Witch Lords, surviving as a lich, created this organization? The possibilities are many, and I think you should pick the one that suits your campaign best.

Hmmm... the sidebar in the FRCS is the only source I can remember off hand currently.

I'd suggest asking Ed for more, but he can't offer any more info on the Mages Regal at the moment, because they're covered by an NDA. This tells us that we'll be learning more about them eventually.

If it's NDA (a Non-Disclosure-Agreement), it means we likely cannot learn anything more officially about it (from Ed, Steven, Eric, or any of the other designers presently at Candlekeep) until the work the details are included in are completed.

Of course, that doesn't mean you can't craft something on your own, like you've said, with the (small) amount of lore already available. I'd be curious to read what you come up with... .
