Can you give me some clues where to find solid information about the Ironstar clan? I've got the spellfire novels where Shandril has an dwarven friend who came from this clan. (I hope I got the clan name right, cause at the moment I'm not able to look this up...).
I know they where almost whiped out. But when and where? And where are the survivers? Are there any hints where to find some of this marvellous weapons they made?

Dwarves Deep is pretty much the only other sourcebook with a smidgen of info, if I recall right and there's never been much info about them.

I dimly recall Ed talking about them once, you could check my So Saith Ed files found on the main Candlekeep site. :)

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Delg Ironstar is the name. There is a little bit of information, in general, about him on this website.
But, Ironstar as a clan. There is a magical helm in PGtF on p. 124. The Pegasus Helm of Kloeth Ironstar. Must be unrelated you say. Very related I say.
The helm summons a celestial pegasus. Dwarves on pegasi?
Well, the LEoF lists one of the items recorded as missing from Ammarindar, taken by the demons of Hellgate Keep.
Ammarindar doesn't list flying mounts anywhere, unless you look at Onthrilaenthor, under the elven kingdom of Eaerlann. There, the dwarves in the eastern STAR MOUNTS(!) dug the mines of Onthrilaenthor. There are shafts in some of the peaks where there are stables and openings to the sky.
So, the Ironstars may have employed winged mounts to protect Onthrilaenthor, where Kloeth possibly created the Pegasus Helm. With the fall of Eaerlann, then later Ammarindar, the Ironstars scattered, and now Delg is one of, if not the, last.
That's just a cursory glance through somewhere I thought I remembered seeing information on the Ironstars. There may be more out there.

In addition, if you do a search here at Candlekeep, you'll find that George Krashos has spoken about the Ironstar dwarves from time to time offering various little tidbits that might prove interesting.

The best source on the Ironstar dwarves remains the old 1E sourcebook FR11 Dwarves Deep. The Ironstar kingdom fell in 207 DR and the surviving dwarves (Ironstar was located in the same mountain range as Mithral Hall - see Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark) fled south to safety with their kin in the small dwarven realm of Dardath (located in the Horn Hills near Waterdeep and north of the Delimbiyr River). Dardath (and presumably its Ironstar dwarven contingent) later became an integral part of Phalorm, the Realm of Three Crowns, known better as the Fallen Kingdom. It is likely that following the disintegration of Phalorm in 615 DR that the Ironstar dwarves as a united clan were scattered. They receive a couple of mentions in realmslore since, notably Delg of the Shandril novels fame and a rumor that some Ironstar dwarves travelled to the island of Mintarn and created an enclave there. I think Eric Boyd in his Mintiper's Chapbook series on the WotC FR website mentions an Ironstar dwarf or two also. That's pretty much the sum total of what we know - well, at least until "The Clans of Faerūn" gets published.

There are also some minor details in the Cormanthyr boxed set... mostly dealing with Clan Ironstar.

Cormanthyr box set..... you mean sourcebook, right? Or are you thinking of the Ruins of Myth Drannor box set?

As I recall now, most of the details are mentioned in the timeline.

Well, on one hand, they weren't going to host it forever, and on the other, this is just one more nail in the coffin of *any* semblance of support for FR.

Well, as is pointed out in the Previous Edition Downloads -- Current Links thread, the files are still there. It's just that the WotC page that formerly hosted those links has either been moved or removed. The thread linked above has links to the files.
