Two of my players can't make it tonight so I'm going to run a level one adventure. I'm looking for published, preferably in Waterdeep starting at level one or two. Dungeon magazine, or whatever. Edition doesnt matter but 3.x would be best. HELP!

For Realms specific stuff I really can't help you on this one because I don't get Dragon Magazine and there are no published level 1 Realms adventures for 3rd edition.
There are some good level 1 core adventures but Candlekeep is not the place to discuss them, if you're interested check this out.....

| 1st level 3.xE Realms adventures from Dungeon (off the top of my head) are Raiders of Galath's Roost (#87?); Thirds of Purloined Vellum (#88?); Within the Circle (#130). |

Actually that reminded me of an adventure in the Waterdeep and the North book called "Screams in the Sewers". So I just sort of winged it, with a lord of Waterdeep sitting alone, hooded and masked in The Ships Prow in Dock Ward that hired them to find out why members of the Plumbers and Cellarers Guild were disappearing. The quasit was cowardly and got away but they eventually tracked him to a dug out tunnel in the sewers where a lowly Red Wizard was in hiding running the whole thing for his "masters". It ended up being a lot of fun. I finally got to use all the Waterdeep material I've been collecting over the years, plus I have a ton of adventure ideas for the future. So it all worked out.
I have to get some new players. I have two that are dedicated, one who's house we run that game at (we actually game in his barn, it's finished with a fridge and microwave *I have pictures*) and another who never misses a session come hell or high water. But another can never make it because of his wife's work and the last guy, for two Saturday's in a row has called the day of the game and cancelled. His excuses are lame (we think it's his wife breaking his balls for playing) and frankly I'm just irritated beyond belief. I spent all last week getting ready for this level 18 game that we normally play only to see the whole thing go to crap (very hard to run a high level game with only two players)and all the hard work I spent sit for another month. |

| I would strongly recommend the 2nd edition Dagger Dale adventures (Doom of Daggerdale and the Randal Morn Trilogy) Those are absolutely fabulous adventures for low level Characters with a lot of loose endings! |

I just picked up the newest Dungeon magazine and there is a first level adventure set in the Realms in it. I did not get a chance to read it yet so I do not know if it is any good.

Warning some spoilers! (Dungeon 130 - Whithin the Circle) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * While that time for my need for an adventure has come and gone as I stated earlier I did get a chance to give that adventure in Dungeon 130 a good once over. "Within the Circle" is set in Featherdale and your party is tasked by one Baron Joaqim Wildhurst to break up a band of goblins that has been poisoning the water supply to a nearby hamlet Thistle. He also sets them on a secret mission to find out what this depot that the goblins took over exactly was. It's a good story, with great details on the baron and has some great NPC roleplaying possibilities. It references the Serpent Kingdoms in several places (which pleases me to no end since I love that sourcebook) but for the most part your fighting goblins. It references a secret Yaun-ti society and the ending is pretty open ended so you have room to keep the adventure going.
I may kick off my next campaign with this little adventure, but I'll move it to the Waterdeep\Swordcoast region. |
