Priest of Eldath are supposed to be peace loving but what happens when they encounter undead? Do they run, hide or fight? My PC is having a hard time as he chose to be a priest of Eldath. Seems like beside casting healing spells , he can't do a damn thing at all. Everything i do seems to be going against my religion(as my DM pointed out), and now my whole gang is wondering what on earth are they going to do with me. Some of them have even tried to convince me to convert to Cleric of Tempus. They say i will be much mor useful if i do. If i do so, will i lose all my cleric lvl and become a fallen cleric?

Priests of Eldath can indeed fight undead. If you care to look a little further (unfortunately don't have my books with me atm), you can look up the Vow of Peace and Vow of Non-violence feats in the book of exalted deeds. One of them (I think peace) dictates they cannot cause physical harm to other beings with the exception of undead, demons, and some others :) It seems fair then to apply that to a lesser degree with a follower of Eldath.
If you want some ideas on how a cleric of Eldath may be played (and played quite well I think too), have a read on the adventures of Selmwell Fletwaral (played by Reefy of candlekeep) here: http://www.candlekeep.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3966 http://www.candlekeep.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6055

Ok from the Dogma section for Eldath in Faithes and Avatars
"Eldathyn are instructed to nuture and aid and not to restrict or punish. They may DEFEND but not punish. Eldathyn MAY WORK VIOLENCE only to defend and they may slay no thing of the forest save to prevent it from slaying themselves or another under their protection"
So a Cleric of Eldath may use violents but only in defence in game terms this would mean that a Cleric of Eldath may not start melee or casting a damaging causing spell until the enemy has initiated hostilities by attacking the party |

I don't have the rules in front of me, but I believe there is a penalty for switching deities. However, you would not lose all of your cleric levels. |

Also note that the dogma in Faiths and Avatars says, 'Swear to take no thinking life', which undead hardly classify as. Most Eldathyn 'fight' by tactics other than open confrontation. |
Life is either daring adventure or nothing. |
