Jeff Grubb has posted on his blog that Julia Martin (author of the awesome "Faiths & Avatars" accessory and a true, true friend of the Realms) has been hospitalised.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that our hopes and prayers are with her.

| Ah man. :( |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I hadn't really heard of her but after looking at this site http://www.wizards.com/forgottenrealms/FR_Bios_JuliaM.asp I realized that I'm very familiar with her work. I'm looking forward to more from her once she recovers! best wishes -beirn |

Julia was a good friend of mine in our college days at Illinos State University. We gamed together, and she and I shared many hours as fellow players in various campaigns. Her characters were always layered with insight and personality.
We've only sorta stayed in touch over the years - mostly with our annual bump into each other at GenCon. My thoughts and prayers are with Julia and Eric, and I'm so glad to read on Jeff's blog that she's expected to make a full recovery.
